This unique piece is made in my small studio in Louisville, Kentucky. It is hand-thrown on a pottery wheel and individually illustrated on 50/50% store-bought and locally harvested and hand-processed clay that I dig up from various places around town. I leave the exterior unglazed for a raw, stone-like touch and a better feel, but the handle and inside is glazed. This object has the artist's touch and imperfections of a natural raw surface clay that uniquely differentiate it from factory made ceramics. It is food safe, dishwasher friendly, although I’d recommend washing by hand and do not recommend microwave it because it might get hot due to natural iron presence in clay. The ice cream is made separately and glued on the mug after the firing.
